Against the advice of its own environmental watchdog, the UK government is planning to weaken its clean air laws through the Retained EU Law Act 2023. Because of this we only have a very short window of time to ask ministers to change their minds.
Air pollution is detrimental to all our health whilst threatening the most vulnerable in our society and disproportionately affecting people on low incomes and from ethnic minorities. It also damages biodiversity and affects food production.
By emailing your MP and asking them to try and save these clean air regulations, you can help hold the UK government to its promise to maintain safeguards that protect our environment and our health.
