EU lawmakers must use the law to make sure people and the planet thrive. Do you agree?

Ahead of the European elections this June, we’re asking them to:
- Appoint a European Commission Vice-President for People and the Environment. They will ensure that climate, nature and social commitments are integrated across all EU decision-making.
- Stop funding fossil fuels and other harmful activities and apply the "polluters pay" principle, so that money goes to restoring our planet, not destroying it.
- Support those who make sure environmental laws are implemented, to hold governments and businesses to account.
- Strengthen environmental democracy so that everyone (including you!) can access information, exercise their rights and have a say in our future.
At ClientEarth, we believe that the law can play a key role in bringing about systemic change in Europe. But right now, lawmakers don't always take into consideration environmental protection when making new laws.
