Heatwaves, floods, droughts – the climate crisis is already here. Yet after our high court wins with Friends of the Earth, the UK government’s climate plan has been ruled unlawful twice for failing to show how the plan will keep us on track to meeting our targets, while relying heavily on high-risk, unproven technologies like carbon capture. 

With a new plan due by October, this is our moment to demand a stronger plan that cuts emissions, lowers bills, and creates jobs - not one that gives billions to the fossil fuel industry to develop high-risk carbon capture technology.

The courts have already spoken. Now it’s time the government listened to the public. 

No matter who we are or where we live, we all deserve a healthy environment, clean energy, and affordable bills - not more delays and continued reliance on expensive and high-risk fossil-fuel technologies.
